Know Your Gun Oil; Alabama Man Shows Why You Should Read the Ingredients

Whatever you’re buying, whoever you’re buying it from, “caveat emptor” is excellent advice to keep in mind. However, there are some cases where you have to be even more careful than usual. Check out this video on Facebook, shot by an Alabama man named Jamie Lee Bracey. Bracey went to the firearms counter in his local Wal-Mart and picked up a bottle of Gun Oil, thinking that it was… well, to oil guns. A quick read of the ingredients label quickly disabused him of that notion. In the video, he reads it to the viewer:

It says water-based lubricant for your gun….Let’s see here. ‘Long-lasting lubrication with easy cleanup. Glycerin and paraben free. Wetter, lighter feel than silicone.’ Oh that sounds good. That sounds really good. I think my gun would work really good, wetter and lighter. Then I see the ‘Ginseng and guarana to promote blood flow,’ and I’m like, ‘What?’ For topical use, apply desired amount to genital areas. Boom!

For those who haven’t had the pleasure, Gun Oil is a brand of high-quality lube that’s especially well-loved among gay men. We’d recommend it for lots of things, but oiling up your Glock or your hunting rifle definitely isn’t one of them. That’s a good way to wind up wrecking an expensive firearm. On the other hand, if you’re looking for something to make one body part slide pleasantly into another, then it’s a great choice. We carry the silicone-based version, which contains aloe vera to minimize abrasion and irritation, as well as Stroke 29, a cream which is made especially for solo sessions.  The tube for the latter says “masturbation cream” in big, bold letters, so if it ever starts to get picked up by your local big box store, there’ll be little chance that it will be stocked on the wrong shelf. (We hope.)

Joking aside, though, Jamie Lee Bracey is an excellent example for anyone who’s shopping for sex toys. Everything that we sell has its own use, and people respond in different ways to different ingredients. The lube that one person finds to be perfect might trigger another person’s allergies, or they might just need something a little thicker. We provide as much information as possible on the site, but stopping to look at the ingredients and thinking about what you and your partner need is always an excellent strategy when you’re planning out your playtime.
